Completed ....sort of ....

I finally finished the top for my new girly quilt....now what to do???  The top is quite busy with colour and I need to decide on the border/s.... not sure whether to do a plain border ( no needleturn or stitching) or an embellished border....I  think it will have to wait until I get back from my visit with my darling daughter, son in law and gorgeous grandsons.....Flying out to Perth early Saturday morning...woohoooo......

Two little chookies....

Look who I found sulking around the local village... Two chooks who have travelled 100kms to end up in Sofala, Australias oldest surviving gold town....Look at the defacing on that sign....shame shame...The population is now 35 I think.....

Peg kept watch as Dale caught up on her beauty sleep. It was a long walk for two little chooks  from Oberon to Sofala..,...lots of foxes about.... the two finally settled in some old gold mining equipment....

Oops Peg !!! Are you ok?????

Will Peg get out???? tune in to see.............................

Adventures of Peg n Dale

"Hey Peg...looks a bit cold here!! Is the bus coming back??? ", Dale queried not too sure of their new adventure..

"We are in the middle of nowhere!!! What did the sign say we past not long ago"
"We are in Oberon, Dale! Its 50kms west of Bathurst...you know, Bathurst!! Tis where we got out of Chookyblues car"
"Lets check the place out" Peg clucked as she led the way...

"Peg, check out his pile of junk..this could be our new ride!!!"

"Dont think so", Peg clucked back at Dale....."We wont be needing one of these for a longggg time!!".

Further along the road they settled quietly in a nearby tree and waited for the morning snow to melt.....

After a little snooze Peg and Dale woke to find the snow had all but melted. This looks like a great place for a few chooks to get their "Cluck on"....
But how do two little chooklets get to the other side of this HUGE dam.......By boat of course!!! Now, wheres the oars.....hmmmmm

"We could roost here for a week or two I think Peg" Dale clucked eagerly.... "Theres plenty of water, and trees to roost in"....

"Where did you say we were again Peg? "
"Oberon Dale, Oberon NSW"........

A good outcome

Sadly I've postponed my trip to Perth this weekend to see my daughter and her cute family, as I have been feeling a bit poorly the last few days. I have rebooked the trip for next weekend BUT will also take hubby and DD9. Now I feel I got sick for a reason!!

Sadly no sewing for me the last few days, just blog reading and relaxing. I did prepared a few swap items to handsew thou. Off to Bathurst today, a day full of appointments, shopping, and hubby needs to fix a friends car...a long day.  I did notice those pesky chooks Peg n Dale here n there the last couple of days...wonder what they are up to??? But more on that later!

Have a great weekend!

Where is the time going???

Its August and ohh dear the year is slipping away...soo much to do and soo little time. Yesterday I joined  Susan  for a 30 minute shopping spree at the Home Patch. We were there to choose the binding for her gorgeous hand pieced star quilt that she recently completed.  I agree with Susan tis always nice to go shopping with a friend... especially one that kept an eye on my purchases for me!

If you have a moment, head over to Kylies blog Red Raspberry Quilts as shes having her first giveaway!! Red Raspberry Quilts sells patterns, precuts, notions and other goodies...

Talking of giveaways...look what I received today...

I won a giveaway on Cardys blog a few weeks ago, and this afternoon Chookyblue handed them to me...I thought I was checking out her purchases but after a second or two I realised the goodies were for me!!! A big thank you to Cardy for the lovely goodies!!!

And just look who I bumped into in Bathurst this afternoon, the infamous Peg and Dale...these little chookies sure do get around...

but more on these two birds tomorrow..............
