Postman has arrived!!!

After a long wait, the postman has delivered the final yardage to make Sue Daleys Lancaster Quilt. I bought the pattern at GDITC, Nundle last month. I needed a fabric range that had lots of creams and bieges and decided on French Generals Rouenneries Deux. I bought a FQ bundle and yardage and am very happy with my choice.

The kids are back at school today, was hoping for some stitching time but Ive been busy playing trains with my grandson2 and DD3. Thomas the Tank is on so I have 15 mins to myself, oops DD3 has noticed Ive disappeared. Have to run.

Clearing out some of the stash

Ive cleaned a few items out of my quilting stash and  listed some kits and fabrics sn ebay. There are two HUGE fabric bundles in the store. I have listed over 16 yards of batiks and 10 metres of flannelette.

There is a couple of fabric packs and kits as well in the store. Kids are back at school this week, looking forward to getting back into a routine.

Twas another early morning for me. I made a nice strong coffee at 5.15am and decided to do some sewing as I probably wont be able too whilst my grandsons are visiting ** insert HUGE smile here**. Im doing the final stitching on my Rockets and Robots quilt.

Yesterday in the wee early hours I made a few face washers. I can never find any when I need them so I cut up an old towel used double thickness and some cute fat quarters I had. Just quick n easy 6 1/2" squares and a quick sew around the edges..the owls have already been claimed by DD9, DD4 and DD3...looks like DS5 will have to have flowers lol

I bid farewell to DD27 early this morning, shes heading home to Sydney to get ready for her flight to Perth to look for a new home with hubby. Im really sad they are leaving Sydney, but I thanked her for the wonderful going away present; the minding of her two gorgeous boys whilst they are away for a week....always see the positive.....

No wonder I have no time!

Its 4am and Ive been kicked out of bed by my two little ones and a cat sigh....the hubby is away and Ive been dreaming of my bed all to myself...Im kidding myself that was EVER gonna happen lol
Its pitch black and its soo quiet, all I can hear is the air filter thingy on the fish tank....Maybe I have this all wrong, I usually stay up till all hours to sew; I should be getting up earlier to sew...
Ive signed up for yet another SWAP arghhh, but I love receiving my swap pressies in the mail... this time is with Quilting Mumma...a mug swap rug...

And Im also signed up for "lets exchange 2012". This is what I sent to Narelle for the Journal Swap. The angry birds pen was a last minute addition as Miss 3 decided to 'borrow' my easter pen ( which was a cute bunny) and well lets say it couldnt be sent. I love Anni Downs notepads and try and include one in each of the swaps. I have a little stock pile and find it quite hard to write on them!!

Next swap item is the 'Once a Season' Swap. The theme is winter...I will have to get on to that one this week as in two more weeks IM off to Fiji for a well earned rest ( so the hubby says lol). I see it as another 10 days of no sewing :( .

Ive already decided on two books to read whilst there. Hubby wanted to go for his birthday this year so I guess I had to say OK lol.

I have been working madly on my Rockets and Robots quilt. Ive finished the applique and stitching, and tomorrow, hopefully I will piece the quilt top, will post pics then.

I have two gorgeous visitors arriving this morning, plus their mummy YAY...

My gorgeous grandson Joshua aged 2 ( pic with my daughter Maddi 9)

And grandson Lachlan aged 8 months...They are coming to visit Nanna for a week as their Mummy and Daddy are off to Perth.. Daddy for work and Mummy to find them a house. My baby girl (oldest) and her little family are moving to Perth within the next few weeks!!!! They confirmed the news a week ago on their Easter visit. Son in Law was offered a promotion too good to pass up. Im an extremely sad Nanna at the moment and will cherish this next week with my little boys immensely....Im allowed to visit whenever I want too ( such a wonderful hubby) but will settle on daily chats on Skype till they purchase a new home......sniff sniff.

Sorry for the long post, I guess its probably one of the first ones Ive written without any interruptions lol....

Dont drink tea with kids around...

I spent a few days stitching my 'A Christmas Story' trying to catch up with my monthly commitments ( too many) and DD9 came in for a cuddle and whoops my cup of tea splashed all over the stitcheries I had laid out to show her. A quick dash to the kitchen and all was saved!!!!

Lightning wasnt very good was a bit late at night.....

Today a girlfriend came to visit and bought some stitching she had been doing. OMG she has stitched 'Tis the Season'. She made each stitchery 5" and I like it better than the smaller ones;she also had the backing to show me. The kids were all playing so I suggested we attack my roll of wadding and baste her quilt. Now its ready for quilting..... to think she started the quilt 3 weeks ago.....sigh..

I grabbed a quick shot as she walked out the door......I havent made this one but tis on my list of things to do!!

Happy Stitching

A busy time....

I have been a little quiet of late, not my own doing of course!!! Life has been busy, very busy since Nundle.  Ive only had one day of sewing **insert major anxiety here** and now its Easter and I have a house full,DD27 and DD25 and their families. We are enjoying our time together, riding 4wd buggies, motorbikes, going for 4wd drives, good food and lots of laughs. The kids were awake at 5.30am to find their easter eggs....chocolate faces everywhere!!!

Today Grandma is visiting for DD9 birthday celebrations...about to make cakes and more cakes...Hope you are all enjoying your Easter break....I hope you manage to get some sewing done...IM still dreaming lol
