Also these yummy French General fabrics and small charm packs arrived...in the do not touch pile until I cross off more projects from my list...cest la vie...

We are off to the Adventure Park in Bathurst this morning ...our six kidlets (yes have two extra) need to burn off some energy and hopefully Ill get some hand sewing done in between the flying fox, the slides, the swings, the maze ...Im tired already lol

At the local waterhole....

We had a few friends at the waterhole when we arrived yesterday for some fishing...I live on acreage which is abundant with kangaroos, goats etc...so you would think I wouldn't be shocked to see a few emus having a drink. We see a few here n there on the drive to Bathurst, but to see a large group was exciting.....
Not long after we settled we had a group of Clydesdale horses visit, a family with two foals...they didn't seemed bothered with us...they had a long drink, then went their merry way.....
Our holiday ends tomorrow and we have had a wonderful time....and it's back to the waterhole this afternoon for more fishing, the kids just love it...shhhh I do too hehehe

Only in Australia

Yesterday we were out n about and saw some funny things....

And a tree full of stuffed toys...bit creepy lol

Love the street signs...

A good catch....

We took the kids to a secret fishing hole not far from our opal mine camp.....I caught 4 fish woohoo.....we caught a total of 11 fish and a huge yabby....check out the pic closely to see the yabby ( tis above the 6th fish) lol......the fish is carp....not your normal eating variety of fish. The locals pickle the fillets in salt and vinegar and you can eat them within three days...the brine dissolves the bones...the fish reminds me of rollmops (pickled fish), you buy in the supermarket....kids want to go fishing again tomorrow....me too!!

Time out....

Tis school holidays and we all need a little time out, where we don't spend hours cleaning, washing and cooking.....This is my time out....I spent this morning sewing my hexagons...and this afternoon I will continue with my Christmas quilt and maybe some reading.....
Hubby is doing some maintenance at the moment, then he will starting mining opal! It's very warm and it will be home for the next 7 days.....and yes I have the Internet (iPad). We don't have electricity ( we have several generators), or mod cons, but a girl needs to read her blogs.....this is my view at the moment.....the kids are in their element, digging and cycling through the opal dirt mounds.....the only decisions I need to make is what to cook.....ahhh heaven....

The past few months have been hectic with limited sewing...now I feel I'm actually making progress on things lol. This is a bit of secret sewing (sort of) for frog cottage. I have a number of outstanding designs that need to be finished soon. Heres a pic of a quilt I'm revamping from an old frog cottage BOM. And some good news, I have a sewing day this week woohoo...

Nothing like a good shopping trip

Today I had to pick up some threads I had ordered from the Home Patch.....I didn't have time to browse (insert unhappy face) as hubby was waiting in the car park.... but I did manage to also get Tillies Lane BOM blocks 2 and 3.....

The fabrics for this BOM are gorgeous....unfortunately I need to finish a few quilts for frog cottage before I can play with these blocks....The thread is Garden Cottage Threads "Katie's Blush" yummy!

A Wonderful Easter

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you all are having a great long weekend filled with yummy goodies and gorgeous friends and family.

We have family camping on our campsite on the river. We have enjoyed lots of bbqs, buggy rides and motorbikes on our home made bike track.....It's lovely to have our grandsons visit as we don't see them often as they live on the Central Coast....will take some pics today before they head home. Hope you are all enjoying your Easter break!!!
