A new addition

We had a great holiday at Grawin NSW (hubbys opal mine) these school holidays. Chookyblue and her family came for an overnight visit after a few years planning lol. Donna has a great blog post, with gorgeous piccies of her travels and the opal mine.

On the trip home I finished the final row of my old Kaleidoscope block 2, yes!! I was able to sew in the car..woohoo...a lot of finger pricks but at least I was productive in the 7 hours drive...

When I arrived home, blocks 3 and 4 were waiting for me (Monday), I madly cut and glued the next block ready for sewing.... but alas its still sitting on my sewing table waiting, waiting, waiting....

Tuesday I picked up two extra kids who were having a few days respite with us and on Wednesday we received a new addition to our family...a little girl Miss 3.  Not sure how long she will be with us, but a few months at least.... We also picked up my granddaughter yesterday for a two night visit...thank god I love kids lol

I haven't done very much sewing the last two weeks and I am 6 blocks behind on the Splendid Sampler and still need to applique many blocks for Sarah Fielkes BOM..I'm hoping to cut out some blocks tonight, once the little ones settle, fingers crossed thou, as I'm starting to show signs of lack of sewing...sore fingers and wrists lol...they need exercise!!

  1. You have such a big heart Deb. I'm sure the kids are having a ball, and I'm sure you'll get some sewing time soon. X

Glad you meet the challenge of getting that block finished before arriving home....... It looks great and so do all the other projects I checked out while with you....
Your home is like a rubber band it just keeps expanding..... The more the merrier I think...... A new routine will level out.....and sewing time will fit back in.... Goodluck for tonight.... Shame we need sleep....
